    1. Academy Assembly
    Academy Assembly is the supreme body of NA with powers to give guidelines and directives to the Council, to approve plans, programmes and budget, to frame necessary rules and regulations, and to decide upon awards, honours, fellowships, and life and honorary memberships to be conferred.
    The Academy Assembly Comprises of:
    1 Chancellor  Chairman
    2 Vice-Chancellor  Vice-Chairman
    3 Secretary, Ministry of Culture and State Restructuring  Member
    4 The Prime Minister nominates Thirty five persons including women representatives who have made significant contributions to Nepali and other languages, literature, art and craft, music and drama, culture and social sciences. Member
    5 Member-Secretary, NA Member-Secretary
    The Prime Minister is the Chife Patron, and the Minister for Culture, and State Restructuring is the Patron of the Academy.
    2. Academy Council
    Academy Council, an executive body of NA, implements the decisions, plans and programmes of the Academy Assembly. It also regulates the annual programme and budget of the Academy. It makes necessary arrangements for fellowships, honours, awards, and prizes. The Chancellor heads the Academy Council of nine members and a Member-Secretary. The tenure of the nominated members is four years.
    The Council Comprises of:
    1 Chancellor  Chairman
    2 Vice-Chancellor  Vice-Chairman
    3 Eight nominated persons  Members
    4 Member-Secretary, NA  Member-Secretary
    3. Service Commission
    The Service Commission is a recommendatory body for the appointment and promotion of permanent employees.
    The Service Commission Comprises of:
    1 Member of the Public Service Commission, deputed by its Chairperson  Chairman
    2 Member nominated by NA  Member
    3 Member-Secretary, NA  Member-Secretary
    4. Academy Secretariat
    Nearly two hundred artists and employees are involved in the administrative and academic functions of the Academy Secretariat, which forms committes, sub-committees, and advisory boards as needed. The following two charts help us understand the structure of the administrative and the academic committees.
